HEY EVERYONE!
So I’m sorry I haven’t been very active recently - school started this week and I’ve been on my other blog a fair bit. To make it up to you guys I thought I’d share something I’ve been working on today. I couple of you have mentioned (to me and in comments) that you’d like to see something flat footed, rather then a heel. Well I like me some boots and found these awesome stonewashed combats by Frye Veronica and gave them my own little twist with some Van Gogh Blossoms. Love to know what you guys think!
Not sure if I’ll stick with these or go with a different style but it was fun messing around with them anyway. Please leave me your thoughts (good or bad) so I have something to read besides my English Homework.
See ya :)
Almond Blossom (1890), Vincent van Gogh
Oil on Canvas, 73.5 X 92 cm
Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam
On January 31, 1890, Theo wrote to Vincent of the birth of his son, whom he had named Vincent Willem. Van Gogh, who was extremely close to his younger brother, immediately set about making him a painting of his favorite subject: blossoming branches against a blue sky. The gift was meant to hang over the couple’s bed. As a symbol of this new life, Vincent chose an almond tree, which blooms early in southern regions, announcing the coming spring as early as February.
